Their site is very easy to use and well designed. When it comes to downloading your audio books or related material, Audible currently has no match.

Jiggerbug - Online Audio Book Rental Service - USA

Jiggerbug is a relatively new audio book company.  They started by renting audio books much like Simply Audiobooks and recently added a download service.  Jiggerbug's offer is a little different in that they bundle the download service with audio book rental which are delivered to your door.   

As with Simply Audiobooks, Jiggerbug's download service will work with standard MP3 players but not with IPOD's.  Jiggerbug have a great offer but they really need to improve their selection.

Simply Audiobooks - Online Audio Book Rental Service - USA and Canada

Simply Audiobooks is also another leading audio book company who has just starting offering audio book downloads. They currently have around 2000 titles available for download and around 7000 audio books on CD if you prefer renting audio books the traditional way.

Their download site is nice and easy to use and all mp3 books are downloaded in WMD format.  If you own an IPOD though Simply Audiobooks is will not work for you as the books are protected in a way that makes them incompatible with Apples IPOD.  If you have a standard MP3 player Simply Audiobooks may be what you looking for.

Booksfree.com - Online Audio Book Rental Service - USA

Already a leader in renting books on CD, Booksfree launched its own MP3 rental service several months ago.  The books are not downloaded but come delivered to your door on CD in MP3 format.  They offer multiple monthly rental plans and have a good and growing selection of MP3 audio books. 

What makes this medium appealing is you may be able to get more books in a month as they have no limits on the number you can rent in a month.
